From translation workflows to AI-driven capabilities the Phrase Platform equips universities to prepare students for global careers. Academic partners get access to the same core capabilities used by leading global companies. This gives professors the ability to teach with cutting-edge technology and students the opportunity to build hands-on skills.

All licenses include unlimited TMS users, plus generous allowances for words, strings, and MT usage, ensuring programs can scale as academic needs grow.

Phrase TMS

Streamline the translation process by automating repetitive tasks and improving overall efficiency. Students can experience the same industry-leading technology used by language professionals, combining intelligent automation, an advanced CAT tool, and AI-driven capabilities to manage multilingual content at scale.

Phrase Strings

Introduce students to software and app localization workflows, preparing them for roles in product, game, and digital content development. Automatically extract translatable content from code repositories and design files, helping students understand how global apps, websites, and games are localized efficiently.

Phrase Language AI

Students can explore how machine translation and AI work together to power multilingual communication. By connecting to more than 30 MT and LLM engines, the platform automatically selects the most effective option for each language pair and content type. It’s an engaging way to understand and experiment with the latest advances in AI-driven translation.

Phrase Portal

Learn how to give non-technical users a simple way to translate documents in a secure controlled environment accessible directly in the browser. With built-in guardrails Phrase Portal leverages machine translation, translation memories, and other language assets from Phrase TMS without requiring users to work directly inside a translation management system.

Phrase Analytics

Students and educators gain hands-on experience with data-driven localization. With no SQL skills, they can create customized reports and visualizations that turn localization data into actionable insights. It’s a practical way to explore how analytics power smarter decision-making and efficiency across global content workflows.

Trusted by universities worldwide

Phrase is intuitive to learn for project managers and linguists, and to have such advanced features available in a cloud-based tool is simply amazing, not to mention cross-platform editors for Mac and Windows.

Max Troyer

Assistant Professor

At European University of Madrid, thanks to Phrase, students learn to set up and execute whole translation projects: From TM creation, through choosing the best MT engine depending on the job, to delivering post-editing work.

Celia Rico

Translation Technology Professor

At Leipzig University, I wanted to make all course participants project managers, as that would allow them to see the full chain of tasks required to produce a translation. With Phrase, we found a solution that allows exactly that.

Edgar Bohm

Translation Technology Lecturer

Ever since Phrase was released, it has ranked among our students’ favorite tools for its straightforwardness, interface clarity and low maintenance requirements for the end user.

Dr. Pavel Král

Teacher of Translation Technology

At Carnegie Mellon University, we find Phrase has all of the necessary features for students to gain foundational CAT skills in a nice, clean interface that is easy to learn—while still being a very powerful tool. I think it is approachable, which makes the learning process more relaxed. I’m also a big fan of the ease with which students can toggle between PM and linguist roles to maximize learning. And it is a huge bonus that the customer service is excellent.

Adjunct Faculty Lecturer in CMU’s Department of Modern Languages

Using Phrase will be key to the future of Knowing Neurons at UCLA Brain Research Institute because of its AI capabilities. It really has started to make a massive difference to be able to use the automation the Phrase Localization Platform offers. This will help us scale our knowledge and content to additional languages in the future.

Phrase and Phrase Language AI support all the WANA (West Asian North African) languages and offer the correct characters and the correct direction of writing without the need to install language packs or dll files. This frees up valuable time for actual teaching and reduces the risk of hitches at University of Stockholm.

Björn Olofsson

Associate Teacher at the Institute for Interpreting and Translation Studies

It has always been an extreme pleasure for me to work with the cutting edge technology you engineered as it allowed me to present the work of real-life translators to those who strive to become such. It has provided me with opportunities to experiment and challenge my students in a way I have not even imagined before. But most of all it gave them the chance to master a tool they would need in their professional career in the safe world of the classroom, away from the frustration of the working environment.

Irina Stoyanova, PhD

Assistant Professor, English Studies Department, Faculty of Humanities
